I am a dedicated and highly skilled Special Educator using current, strategy-based students competencies and confidence. A certified Orton-Gillingham and Wilson practitioner, I drew upon these methodologies, my understanding of literacy and dyslexia and my experience to develop an intergrated approach to teaching reading, spelling and written language. My strong interpersonal skills and focus on "demystifying" learning challenges helps my students to have a clearer sense of self and better self-esteem. Using the Responsive Classroom philosophy enables my students to set specific goals for themselves, increasing their motivation and sense of autonomy.
